About ASL

Ashton Security Laboratories was founded in 2003 by its President, Mr. J. David Thompson, a former Common Criteria Testing Lab (CCTL) Director and IT security researcher for MITRE and at NASA. ASL staff have experience managing CCTLs, running FIPS 140 testing labs, conducting CC evaluations and FIPS 140 certifications and designing and developing secure operating systems and products.

ASL's founding was motivated by a desire to improve the security of IT products through good design and quality product assessement. We provide security design and evaluation preparation services to commercial product vendors with customer requirements to submit their products to Common Criteria security evaluation--especially those requiring high assurance evaluation or that have a large hardware component.

ASL provides advanced IT security solutions to government and industry, and assists product vendors in meeting US government security evaluation and certification requirements.

ASL provides IT Product Security Testing services to CC Testing Labs (CCTL), and consults with product vendors to help them prepare for CC and FIPS 140 cryptography certifications. ASL also conducts IT Security Research for the US government. ASL provides IT Security Engineering services to developers of high assurance and cross domain systems.
